And She Shall be Called....

Hey Everyone! Kelsey is now entering her third tri-mester, and we are getting more and more excited about the arrival of our baby daughter! She has been kicking up a storm inside Kelsey's tummy and we can even see her moving around from time to time! Our girl seems to have a very energetic and playful personality. So we figured it's time to give this little beautiful one a name....so after much searching, discussing, and debating, we have agreed on one! 

                                                     Ellie Ayres Furse

Ellie means "light; radiance; or shining light." Ayres is Kelsey's given middle name, and is passed down through several generations of her Mom's family. Brown Ayres, Kelsey's great-great-great grandfather, is the founder of Ayres Hall on the campus of The University of Tennessee. Ellie is not an inherited name from either of our families - we just like the way it sounds and fits together! We hope you all like her name...we are excited for everyone to meet Ellie Ayres Furse! 

The floor of Ellie's nursery is already practically covered with outfits, blankets, hats, and accessories so THANK YOU to everyone who has contributed to her collection! We love you all! We are in the process of painting and decorating her room. The walls will be mostly "Tree Frog Green" with "Strawberry Fields Pink" accents.

Growing a Baby

As of today, Kelsey is 22 weeks pregnant with our baby daughter. As the due date (October 9th, 2012) quickly approaches, we have been getting more and more anxiously excited for her arrival. We have been buying outfits, trying to pick out her name, and getting our home and lives ready for a baby girl.

We have tried to document the growth of our daughter as she is growing inside mommy's tummy. Below are some pictures of Kelsey as her stomach makes room for a little girl. They are in chronological order from left to right. You can definitely tell she's pregnant now! More pictures of our daughter and Kelsey are in the Photo Gallery page.

As we take more pictures of Kelsey's stomach as the baby grows and grows, we will add them to this post, so be sure to check back. Backyard Family Landscaping

Mom and Dad (Bob and Kim Mays) came up to visit us in Fuquay Varina! It was not only great to visit as a new family, but they brought some beautiful trees and flowers to help us landscape our back yard.

Bob and Ben broke out their lawn mowers and mowed the grass, Matt pulled weeds in the front yard, and Kim and Kelsey planted beautiful flowers around the patio and front porch! We put a flower bed in the rear corner of our backyard fence and planted crape myrtles and a sweet betsy plant. The sweet betsy has been passed down through the generations of the Mays Family - our portion came from the one in at the Mays' Home in Greensboro. 

We also planted an awesome weeping willow tree in the other corner of the fence. It is going to grow as our family does....so we're excited to see what it will look like as it gets bigger. Last but definitely not least Mom and Dad bought us some patio furniture and a canopy for our pergola. Our yard looks awesome now! The work we did as a family in the backyard was a great way to spend time together, and it also made our outdoor space a fun, comfortable place to relax and enjoy our new home. We cannot thank the Mays Parents enough for their help this weekend. We love you!

Welcome to Our Family Website!

Hey Everyone! Thanks for checking out our family website! We are going to use this section to document and share our adventures as we grow together as a family. As most of you probably already know, we have just bought a new house (closed on March 1st), got married (as of May 5th), and are expecting a beautiful baby girl (due date on October 9th).

Whew! ....seeing it all written down in one place kind of puts everything in perspective! But as you can tell, we will have plenty of things to post and share with you all, so stay tuned! As we put up stories, pictures, and video, will we routinely archive them in the Photo Gallery page.

Finally, we have incorporated many different ways to stay in touch with everyone that we love into this website, so let's use them! You can leave comments on our posts in this page, email us, or send us a quick message through the Contact Us page. We have even provided a place for you to upload pictures, documents or other items!
